Blaž Tomažin Bolcar is an accomplished expert in sports law who began his career at Bolcar Law Firm after completing his studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana. He furthered his education with postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom, specializing in sports law at DeMontfort University in Leicester. He later earned the title of Executive Master in Global Sports Governance from the University of Limoges in collaboration with UEFA Academy.
Blaž is the co-founder and current president of the Slovenian Sports Lawyers Association and serves as an arbitrator at the European Handball Arbitration Court. He is also the founder of the international competition Sports Law Arbitration Moot (SLAM), where he plays an active role in the organizing committee. Through his scholarly articles, he contributes to the development of legal practice and theory while expanding his expertise in sports law. As a co-author, he contributed to the chapter on sports law in Slovenia for the International Encyclopedia of Law (Wolters Kluwer, 2023).
He is a regular guest lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, as part of the Legal Clinic on Sports Law, as well as at the European Faculty of Law and ISDE Law & Business School in Madrid in their sports law programs. Additionally, he frequently participates as a speaker at various conferences and events related to the sports industry.
Blaž is an active member of prestigious international organizations, including UEFA Academy Alumni, IASL (International Association of Sport Law), and Rexsports, where he continues to expand his professional knowledge and enhance his reputation in the field of sports law.
